The former Chief Guide of Girlguiding UK has been awarded a CBE for services to young people over the last 30 years. Jenny Leach, of Brighouse, West Yorkshire, joined the organisation as an adult volunteer leader of 4th Rastrick Guides, Brighouse, in 1973.
She held several senior posts before becoming Chief Guide in 2001.
Girlguiding UK chief executive Denise King said: "Girlguiding UK has been enriched by the leadership that Jenny has given the organisation."
Professor honoured
Mrs Leach said: "I have been delighted to be part of these girls' and young women's lives."
A CBE also goes to Margaret Bell, professor of traffic and environment pollution at the University of Leeds, for services to sustainable transport.
OBEs are awarded to Catherine Blanshar, chief of libraries, arts and heritage at Leeds City Council; Neil Franklin, chief crown prosecutor at the CPS in Leeds and Jeremy Waxman, headteacher at Halifax High in Wellesley Park, Calderdale.
MBEs go to Rashid Ahmed Awan, president of the Pakistan Society of West Yorkshire, for services to community relations and Susan Baker JP, for services to the community in Leeds.
Teaching assistant Marion Davies, who works at Horbury Primary School in Wakefield, is also awarded an MBE for services to education.
