Lorry crashes into level crossing
Commuters continue to face severe delays after a lorry hit a level crossing barrier near Skipton, bringing down power lines, on Wednesday.

A Network Rail spokesman said delays and diversions would continue throughout Thursday.

Police said it was possible the driver, who did not stop after the incident, was not aware he had hit the barrier as he drove over the crossing.

Power was cut to automatic signals, which were being operated manually.

Train services between Leeds, Bradford and Skipton are disrupted while repair work is carried out.

Direct services between Leeds and Skipton, and between Bradford Forster Square and Skipton were cancelled.

A replacement rail shuttle service was put into place between Leeds, Shipley and Bradford Forster Square.
