Man killed in execution shooting
Richard Clark
Mr Clark's body was discovered by his teenage stepson
A 32-year-old man was shot dead in an "execution style" killing as he lay asleep next to his girlfriend, police have revealed.

The body of Richard Clark was found by his 14-year-old stepson at his house in Moorland Avenue, Hyde Park, Leeds, at 0320am on Thursday.

West Yorkshire Police revealed that he had been shot in the head.

Det Supt Steve Fear said Mr Clark, who was already known to police, was the victim of a "brutal murder".

He said the victim, who died from a single gunshot wound, had been living with his girlfriend and her three children.

She is believed not to have heard anything until one of her children came into the living room and raised the alarm.

Mr Fear added, though, that she was still extremely traumatised and their enquiries were continuing.

"This is a cynical brutal killing of a man who lay asleep. It is a brutal execution," he said.
