Leeds City Council and the police want magistrates to make the orders against 12 youths from the Armley area and 10 from East End Park.

The court is expected to be told that residents in the two areas are living in fear.

Alleged incidents include threats to kill a police officer and burglary.

It is the second time West Yorkshire Police and the city council have made a multiple application for ASBOs, aimed at targeting problems in specific areas.

Valuable support

The first operation targeted 66 people who were thought to be involved with drug dealing and other crime in the Little London area.

Head of Leeds Area Community Safety, Superintendent Trevor Kerry, said the police and council were determined to tackle anti-social behaviour in the city and thanked local communities for their support.

"They (residents) have shown immense faith by having the confidence to come forward and talk to us, sharing their concerns," he said.

"We can't cannot work alone in isolation and I hope their valuable support continues."
