A woman prisoner who was on suicide watch has been found dead in her cell at Wakefield's New Hall prison. Louise Davies, 32, of Huddersfield, was found by staff at 1930 BST on Sunday, a Prison Service spokeswoman said.
She was found "seemingly self-strangulated", the spokeswoman added. "Resuscitation was attempted but sadly she was declared dead at 1945 BST."
Davies was serving a life sentence for arson and had been at the prison for two months.
