Tracey Morris was the first British runner across the line |
Leeds athlete Tracey Morris was the first British runner across the London Marathon finishing line. With a time of two hours thirty three minutes 51 seconds she beat the Olympic qualifying standard.
The UK champion is almost certain to be selected alongside Paula Radcliffe and Liz Yelling when the Olympic side is chosen.
Ms Morris knocked over an hour of her personal best time and was placed tenth in the finishing line-up.
She completed her first marathon five years ago and has only been running seriously for 18 months.
Ms Morris is a member of the Leeds running club, Valley Striders.
