| A man is in a critical condition at St James's Hospital in Leeds following what police described as "a serious accident" on the A64. At about 0430 BST on Tuesday a car collided with a lorry at the junction of Scholes Lane and the A1. The driver of the car, believed to be in his late 30s, stopped to speak to the lorry driver when he was knocked down by another car. The accident forced the road to close and police said delays were expected.
