Services improved for travellers
Leeds station
The interchange will provide services for passengers at Leeds Station
A new 2.5m bus interchange has been opened outside Leeds Train Station.

The interchange has five bus stands and covered taxi waiting areas to cater for 600,000 rail passengers a year.

It will be used by up to 90 buses an hour to provide direct bus links from the city's bus station to the rail station.

Councillors hope the interchange will cut congestion in the city, especially in the Mill Hill area, as well as attract more visitors to Leeds.

Leeds City Council Leader Keith Wakefield said the development is important:

He said: "If the city is going to fulfil its potential to be the centre of economic generation for the Yorkshire and Humber region it needs a modern public transport network that will attract people out of their cars, before congestion starts to hamper that growth."

Developed by Metro, Leeds City Council and Network Rail, the interchange will provide services travelling from east to west through the city.
