Police investigate soldier's death
Police have been investigating the death of a soldier who was found hanged at Catterick Garrison, the Army has confirmed.

Lance Corporal Derek McGregor, 21, from Blackpool, was found dead at the base in North Yorkshire on 7 July.

He was a medical technician with the 3 Close Support Medical Regiment.

An Army spokesman said North Yorkshire Police had investigated the circumstances surrounding his death and was reporting to the local coroner.

He said the Army could not comment further until a full inquest had taken place.

The inquiry comes as detectives in Surrey continue to investigate the deaths of four soldiers at Deepcut barracks.
