Melvin Benn, managing director of promoter Mean Fiddler, has tried to reassure local residents.
He said: "Moving to Bramham has given us an opportunity to have a fresh start and has given us an opportunity to try new things.
"It was the right time to move."
A letter has been sent to residents in Thorner from Mean Fiddler, and the owners of Bramham Park.
Thorner Parish Council opposes holding the festival at Bramham Park which is about two miles from the centre of the village.
There have been claims the village will be overwhelmed by people making their way to the event.
Mr Benn has tried to reassure local residents |
But Mr Benn says in his letter that people arriving by car will be directed away from Thorner and will enter the festival site from the A64.
To avoid festivalgoers forming long queues for food and drink at village shops, a shuttle bus service will operate to the Tesco store at Seacroft.
Mr Benn tells the Thorner residents: "Despite what you are being led to believe, the vast majority of people that come to the festival are very well behaved and do not cause any problems.
"They are no different from any young people in the village."
In their letter, the owners of Bramham Park, Nick and Rachel Lane Fox, say that if they felt the event would harm the park's historic landscape they would not have agreed to host it.
Mr and Mrs Lane Fox continue: "We do feel this festival is a fantastic event for the young people in Leeds and from all over the country."
Acts appearing at the festival include Metallica, Linkin Park, White Stripes and Blur.
