There will be no judicial review of Warwickshire County Cricket Club's plans to develop the Edgbaston ground, a court has ruled. The county received planning permission from Birmingham City Council in May for the £30m redevelopment of the site. Birmingham Civil Justice Centre said on Wednesday there were no legal grounds for holding a judicial review into the planning application process. The county said construction work would start early in the new year. New pavilion The county has said it needs to revamp the site in order to continue to host England international matches. Twelve homes along the nearby Pershore Road are to be demolished to make room for the development. The new ground will boast a hotel, homes, a new pavilion and stand with a capacity of more than 25,000. The residents who asked for the review have six days to lodge an appeal against the civil justice centre's ruling.
