Work begins on extra lane for M42
Contractors are starting work on an extra lane on the M42 in the West Midlands.

The lane is being added to the existing two lane stretch of the motorway where the southbound carriageway meets the M6 Toll at Coleshill, Warwickshire.

The work, at junction 7a, is expected to last six months.

Speed limits of 50mph will be in place and some overnight closures of the southbound carriageway will be needed while sign gantries are replaced.
