Kidnappers have released a Premiership footballer's brother unharmed after he was taken from his home in central America just over two weeks ago. Edwin Palacios, 15, brother of Birmingham City's Wilson Palacios, was grabbed in La Ceiba, Honduras.
The Blues' 23-year-old on-loan player, currently in Miami with the Honduras national side, has said he was relieved at the news.
A club spokesman said the team was delighted the family's ordeal was over.
Wilson Palacios is currently preparing for a game against Guatemala, to be played on Saturday.
Speaking to setantasports.com he said said is was "so happy".
"I can fully focus myself on football, thanks to God," he said.
"My team-mates helped me a lot during that terrible period of my life and I want to thank them for that."
Palacios, who has more than 40 caps, began his career with Club Deportivo Victoria, before moving to Olimpia.
He is on-loan with Birmingham until December.
