A chef at the home introduced residents to the games |
Residents at a Birmingham retirement home have become hooked on one of the latest computer crazes. People at Sunrise home in Edgbaston, some in their 90s, have been holding tournaments using the Nintendo Wii.
Residents have been enjoying games simulating tennis, golf and bowls while still inside the warmth of the home.
Players pit themselves against the games, but the residents say tournaments to gain the highest score have become "competitive".
One resident, Gladys Harrington, described why she enjoyed the games so much.
She said: "It's easy to operate and you don't have to rely on partners to score, you get your own score."
The tournaments began after one of the chefs at the home brought in the game console.
