The bill covers staffing, a consultation and legal costs |
West Mercia Police is sending a bill for 300,000 to the government for the costs of the police merger plans. The bill covers staffing, a public consultation and legal advice for the plans which were abandoned last week.
Under the proposals West Mercia would have merged with West Midlands, Warwickshire and Staffordshire Police to create one force.
North Wales and Sussex forces have also submitted bills as high as 375,000 to the government.
The merger was opposed by the West Mercia force, which covers Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Shropshire.
In June the force launched a legal bid to delay the merger plans before further consultation.
