| Campaigners against plans to close 29 post offices in the West Midlands have taken their protest to the streets. The group held a demonstration on Saturday outside Birmingham City Council offices to try to save branches in the south of the city. It is feared that pensioners would be worst affected by the closures, with many unable to travel greater distances. The plans have won cross-party support on the city council.
