Two held over crack cocaine haul
Crack cocaine
Police seized crack cocaine with an estimated street value of 10,000
Two men have been arrested after police seized crack cocaine with an estimated street value of 10,000 during a raid on a house in Birmingham.

Nineteen officers were involved in the raid at an address on Springfield Road, Moseley, on Wednesday.

Det Sgt Neil Coldicott said they were 'extremely pleased' with the success of the operation.

The two men, aged 22 and 40, are currently helping police with their enquiries.

'Fist-sized parcels'

He said: "We have succeeded in disrupting drugs activity and made important arrests and seizures.

"Two, fist-sized parcels of crack have been recovered, which means we have prevented the sale of a large amount of class 'A' drugs on the street.

"Local people can be reassured that we will continue to target identified drugs networks in their community and we would like to hear from anyone with information about drug-related crime and activity in the area."

This latest raid follows the West Midlands force exceeding its target for the detection of heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine.

Up to 610 people have been charged already this year, exceeding the target of 600 for the period April 2003-March 2004.
