DJ 'critical' after disturbing gang
Tushar Makwana
Tushar Makwana was born in Uganda
A radio DJ remains in a critical condition after he was injured disturbing a gang of burglars at his Birmingham home.

Heart FM presenter Tushar Makwana was discovered lying outside his home in Castle Bromwich on Tuesday morning.

Police believe he may have been run over as the men made their getaway.

The award-winning DJ was born in Uganda but moved to Britain in the 1970s.

Charity abseil

Heart's managing director Paul Fairburn said: "This has come as a terrible shock to everybody here.

"Tushar is the sort of person who works tremendously hard on the things we do here for charity.

"He recently did an abseil for charity, which is just the sort of thing he would do."

Eight people arrested in connection with the incident have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
