Harry and William both play polo for the Highgrove team

The Prince was chosen from hundreds of young players around the country to lead the team on his debut for the side on Sunday.

Despite falling from his pony in the first minute of the match in Southam, Warwickshire, the 18-year-old Prince gave England the lead minutes later.

But the visitors won the match at the National Schools Polo Tournament four and half points to three.

Competitiveness

Polo is a favoured sport of the young prince, who plays with his father Prince Charles and brother Prince William.

He is known for his enthusiasm and competitiveness on the field.

He sometimes plays on the Highgrove team with Charles and William and was captured on film recently joking with his brother before the match.

Harry is to follow the family tradition by joining the Army

Sunday's match was played at the Dallas Burston Polo Grounds on the Stoneythorpe Estate, Southam, Warwickshire.

Prince Harry left Eton earlier this month after sitting A-levels in geography and art.

On his last day of school, it was announced the 18-year-old would be applying to Sandhurst, the military academy.
