Bradley Saunders denied being involved in drug dealing |
An Olympic boxer arrested on suspicion of dealing cocaine will not face any charges, police have said. Bradley Saunders and his girlfriend were questioned in November after a tin of white powder was found by a sniffer dog in his garden in County Durham. The substance, which police believed was an amount of the drug with a street value of £12,000, was sent for tests. On Friday, a spokeswoman from Durham Police said: "The CPS has decided not to proceed." The 22-year-old light welterweight, from Sedgefield, and his girlfriend had both denied being involved in drug dealing. Speaking at the time, Mr Saunders, a father-of-one, said: "They told me they'd had an anonymous telephone call tip-off. "There was never anything in that garden. I know nothing about any drugs." The boxer was tipped to bring back a gold medal from the Beijing games but returned home after a shock defeat in his second fight.
