| Two men have been charged with attempted deception after an elderly Wearside woman was allegedly pressured into paying cash for repairs. Police said the men, aged 26 and 36, from Hartlepool, said they were roofers when they called at the house in Lonsdale Avenue, Sunderland. They are due to appear before Sunderland magistrates on Thursday. The 26-year-old was also charged with driving while disqualified and without insurance.
