Counterfeit CD operation targeted
A house on Tyneside was raided following allegations an illegal CD copying business was being run there.

Trading Standards officers, Northumbria Police and Department of Work and Pensions officials were involved in the operation on Wednesday.

The raid in Newcastle follows an investigation by the Mechanical Copyright Protection Society Anti-Piracy Unit.

A man is due to be interviewed by Trading Standards.

Thousands of musical works were allegedly discovered on CDs, together with hundreds of DVDs and software games.

Three computer operated duplication systems were also found and confiscated.
