 Roseate terns are summer visitors to the UK |
Live pictures of sea birds nesting on a tiny Northumberland nature reserve are to be beamed to a screen at a tourist information centre. A solar-powered CCTV camera on the RSPB Coquet Island reserve will send images to the centre at Amble.
The CoquetWatch project is due to go live next month.
The island is just 15 acres and is home to roseate terns, one of Europe's rarest seabirds, as well as the Arctic, common and Sandwich tern.
The project has been funded by the Northumberland Coast AONB Sustainable Development Fund, the Heritage Lottery Fund and SITA Trust, which funds community and wildlife projects
