Grants for groups to tackle drugs
Community groups are being offered grants of up to 3,000 to fund projects which tackle drug use.

The North Tyneside Drug Action Team has targeted funding from the government's Safer and Stronger Communities Fund.

Groups and voluntary agencies can apply for support for developing projects like a parents' or carers' group, drop-in sessions, or other ideas.

Projects should help local people of any age in North Tyneside to tackle drug-related problems effectively.

North Tyneside Drug Action Team is a partnership between the local council, police, health and voluntary sector and probation service.

The team is available to talk to people about their ideas.

The closing date for applications is 10 June. For more information or an application form contact Margaret Freeman on 0191 200 1391.
