Man charged over death of cyclist
A man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a seven-year-old cyclist died on a pedestrian crossing on Tyneside.

David Cameron, from Blakelaw, died following the incident on Stamfordham Road in Newcastle, near its junction with the A1, in June.

His bicycle was hit by a silver BMW on the pedestrian crossing.

Mark Tye, 21, from the city's Chapel Park area, is due to appear before Newcastle magistrates next Monday.
