Passengers warned on hand luggage
Passengers using Durham Tees Valley Airport have been told not to bring more than one piece of hand luggage - despite the rules being relaxed.

From Monday, a number of airports in the UK will allow more bags after the Department of Transport toned down security measures.

But officials at the Darlington airport said the luggage restrictions would be staying in place.

The airport said it will continue with discussions about lifting the rule.

The Government has indicated it would like to see the new rules at all airports by the end of the May.

But the final decision on luggage allowances rests with each individual airline.

A number of operators, including Ryanair which operates services from Durham Tees Valley, are retaining their one item limit.
