Administrators who took over Rathbones Bakeries announced on Monday they had sold six of its seven factories across the country. Sales have been agreed for the bakeries at Wigan, Wakefield, Middlesbrough, Walsall, Leicester and Peterborough.
The group, which also features Harvestime and Fresha Bakeries, employs more than 1,000 people at the sites.
Only the Carlisle factory has yet to be sold, but KPMG said it is confident that a buyer will be found.
Rathbones, which had sales of 100m last year, suffered a fire at its factory in Carlisle in February.
KPMG partner Richard Hill said: "We have reached an agreement, subject to contract, with a purchaser for the Wigan, Wakefield and Middlesbrough bakeries.
"We have also reached agreement, again subject to contract, with a separate purchaser in respect of the Walsall, Leicester and Peterborough bakeries.
"We expect that both sales will complete by the end of this week."
