Aid to cash-strapped police force
Cleveland Police chief constable Sean Price
Mr Price welcomed the result of the inquiry
A government rescue package worth 6m has been given to Cleveland Police.

Last year, there was controversy when the force discovered a black hole in its budget estimated at 7m.

A project group was set up to recommend how savings could be made with full consultation with Unison, the police authority and Police Federation.

The Home Office money is designed to put the force back on track financially as it looks to improve its situation in future years.
