University helps young homeless
University staff and students have given their support to a project for homeless young people at Christmas.

Teesside University has been running a campaign for Nightstop Teesside, which provides support for homeless people aged 16 to 25.

The campaign asked staff and students to donate gifts and toiletries.

They are being collected by Nightstop Teesside manager Ruth Manual on Monday afternoon from university voluntary co-ordinator Jayne Villiers.

Ms Villiers said: "Nightstop recently gave a presentation about their work here at the university.

"It was heartbreaking to see the situations that some young people find themselves in and the difficulties they face when becoming homeless.

"The response by both staff and students in supporting this local organisation has been fantastic."
