Underage drinkers facing action
Police on Teesside have been running a crackdown on underage drinking.

Over the last two months they have recovered 150 of alcohol from underage youths in the operation in the Eston and Nunthorpe areas.

Cleveland Police decided to take action after young people aged 12 to 16 had been causing a nuisance in parks and open spaces.

Officers say damage has also been caused to Eston cemetery by youths after they have been drinking.

Sergeant Rob Wilkins said: "We have been running an operation over the last two months - Operation Relentless - which is specifically aimed at reducing the menace of underage drinking which results in anti-social behaviour.

"We have been stopping anyone with alcohol, confiscating it and initiating the Anti-Social Behaviour Order process which means a letter will be sent to their parents and if they reoffend the courts may place restraints on them."
