Two people have died and two others have been seriously injured in a crash in East Sussex.

A 25-year-old man from Crowborough and a 16-year-old boy were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident on the A26 at Heron's Ghyll.

They were killed when the man's Peugeot 306 was in collision with a tipper lorry on Saturday afternoon.

Two other male passengers were taken to the Kent and Sussex Hospital, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, with serious injuries.

The 63-year-old driver of the lorry was uninjured.

In a separate incident, a female pedestrian in her 50s died in hospital in Worthing after being hit by car on the A27 Old Shoreham Road at Lancing at about 1930 GMT on Friday.

The driver of the vehicle, a Littlehampton man in his 40s, and his passenger were both treated in hospital for shock.

Sussex Police has appealed for anyone with information about either incident to contact them.
