Man remanded over woman's murder

A man accused of murdering a woman whose body was discovered in her burned-out flat has been remanded in custody by Brighton magistrates.

Andrea Waddell, who had been working as a prostitute, was found strangled in the bedroom of the flat in Upper Lewes Road, Brighton, on Thursday night.

Neil McMillan, 41, of Bennett Road, Brighton, is also charged with arson with intent to endanger life.

The satellite dish installer is due at Lewes Crown Court on 6 November.
