Football club wins ground funding
A non-league football club in West Sussex has won a 45,000 grant towards a stadium upgrade.

The award for East Grinstead Town FC has come from the Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF).

The money will contribute towards a 107,000 improvement project at the club's East Court ground.

The plans include a 100-seater covered stand with wheelchair spaces, a new terraced stand, team dugouts, fencing and paved access.

Club chairman Richard Tramontin said: "We are grateful to the FSIF for providing the funding for clubs such as ourselves to improve facilities.

"We are an ambitious club and we hope to take a big step forward this season with promotion to the first division."

East Grinstead Town's senior team currently play in Division Two of the Sussex County Football League.
