More than 30 rottweiler and boxer dogs have been found living in filthy conditions in a raid at a bungalow in Hailsham, Sussex, the RSPCA has said. Inspectors seized 17 dogs, including 11 puppies, on Wednesday. One puppy with an eye infection had to be destroyed.
Police said they arrested and bailed a woman, 42, for allegedly attacking police officers and a man, 30, for alleged breach of the peace.
The charity said social services was told about a girl, aged five, there.
A spokeswoman said the raid happened because inspectors suspected cruelty to animals at the premises.
She said evidence was being collated to determine whether any prosecution would be brought.
