Builders flock to May Lego home

James May plans to live in the Lego house for a weekend

Organisers of a project to build a house in Surrey made entirely out of Lego bricks have been inundated with requests from people who want to help.

Top Gear presenter James May is to build the house for the BBC series James May's Toy Stories in the middle of the Denbies Wine Estate, in Dorking.

But because of the huge response, organisers have now said that only ticket-holders will be able to join in.

They will issue 600 tickets from 0930 BST on Saturday at Denbies.

Turned away

People who responded to an appeal for helpers from TV production company Plum Pictures have been sent an e-mail saying it cannot guarantee entry.

They are told to to consider carefully before travelling long distances to the venue, in London Road, as there is a risk they will be turned away.

And filming commitments mean May will not be signing autographs or having his picture taken with members of the public.

Each person in the queue will be given one ticket to one of five building sessions between 1000 BST and 1630 BST.

The house will be life-size with a staircase, toilet and shower, all made out of Lego, and May has said he will live in it for a few days.

More than three million bricks were delivered to the site last week, but people are still being asked to take any unwanted Lego with them.
