County's 13th youth games begin

Surrey Youth Games launch
The games aim to encourage participation in sport

Surrey's 13th annual youth games have been launched by school pupils at an event in Epsom.

The start of this year's Surrey Youth Games, which will be held on the 20 and 21 June, was announced at Ebbisham Sports Club.

There will be a series of activities leading up to the games, organised by the Active Surrey Sports Partnership.

Pupils from primary and secondary schools in Epsom took part in badminton coaching courses at the launch.

A spokesperson for the games said they are to encourage participation in sport and promote coach and volunteer development.

Representatives of Surrey's 11 boroughs and districts and representatives of national governing bodies attended the launch event.
