Keith Barber, 52, and his wife Karen, 40, said they made just �150 from their efforts and admitted counterfeiting.

Ipswich Crown Court heard that the couple had thousands of pounds worth of fake CDs and DVDs at their home in Carlton Colville, near Lowestoft.

Their aim was to raise money to take their daughter, who has cancer, to hospital, lawyer Nick Hoffman said.

He said they were genuinely remorseful and had pleaded guilty to all the offences at the earliest opportunity.

Judge Peter Thompson gave the Barbers each a six-month prison sentence, suspended for two years.

Karen Barber was also told to do 200 hours of unpaid community work.
