Pupils at a Suffolk school are using fingerprint technology instead of cash to pay for their school dinners. The system at Kirkley High School in Lowestoft will also allow parents and teachers to monitor diets.
Parents put money in an account and the children scan their thumbprints into machines to pay for their meals.
Deputy head John Shanahan said: "If parents want a particular meal for their child, they can tell us and we can restrict what they eat."
