A major centre for the development of environmentally friendly energy could be created in Lowestoft. Suffolk County Council is looking at getting funding for the Offshore Renewable Energy Centre at Ness Point - close to a new wind turbine.
The idea behind the scheme is to bring together industries involved in renewable energy - making it the major centre in Britain for the technology.
It would include business units as well as a library and conference facilities.
The council may approach the East of England Development Agency for funding to get the project off the ground.
