Residents warned about Asbo man
Karl Matthew Roberts
Karl Roberts, 19, was issued an Asbo for verbal abuse
Suffolk residents are being asked to watch out for a man in case he breaks his anti-social behaviour order (Asbo).

About 500 leaflets have been issued by Babergh District Council detailing the Asbo on Karl Matthew Roberts, 19.

Roberts, of Great Cornard, was issued the Asbo last week for intimidation and verbal abuse. It lasts for three years.

Police said the leaflets tell people what he is not allowed to do or where he is not permitted to go. A contact number for the council is also given.

A council spokesperson said the conditions of his Asbo include forbidding him from entering the area bounded by Poplar Road, Pot Kiln Road and Shawlands, and from using threatening or insulting words.

It is thought to be the first time a council in Suffolk has leafleted people about a person issued with an Asbo.

The council's decision comes shortly after the government announced more people should be "named and shamed" after receiving such orders.
