Voluntary projects across eastern England will benefit from a cash boost of more than �500,000 as part of the government's Early Spend programme. The money will be used to build and enhance their support, help and advice services.
Groups to benefit include the Cambridge Ethnic Community Forum and the Norwich and Norfolk Voluntary Services.
Others to benefit are Suffolk ACRE, Voluntary and Community Action South Bedfordshire, Voluntary Youth Services.
The Basildon, Billericay and Wickford Council for Voluntary Services has also won funding.
Sue Howl, director of community safety and regeneration at GO-East, said: "We are very pleased to see such a large amount of money coming into the region to support a wide range of both voluntary and community projects.
"The volunteers from these organisations are vital in helping to build communities, as well as providing a wide range of services that support those working in health care, education, training and many other sectors."
