Icy roads affect early commuters
Snow on cars
Some in the East awoke to a blanket of snow
Some delays were caused by early morning collisions on icy roads in the east of England on Monday.

A motorist, who has not yet been named, was injured before 0600 GMT in an incident on the B1107 in Thetford Forest on the border between Norfolk and Suffolk, closing the road.

And an overturned lorry blocked the A1095 Halesworth Road at Reydon in Suffolk from Quay Lane to the A12.

Police said the lorry also pulled down some power cables when it turned over.

Problems were reported for travellers at the A307 westbound at Linton in Cambridgeshire, and elsewhere in the county, a broken-down vehicle caused tailbacks at Longthorpe on the A47.

An accident on the A47 in Acle, Norfolk at the A1064 junction also led to delays.

On Monday morning, the Met Office issued a travel advisory for motorists in Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.

Forecasters warned that snow showers were expected in East Anglia, causing slippery roads and difficult driving. Drivers were warned to take extra care.

The snow was expected to be heaviest and most frequent in Norfolk.
