A female prisoner found hanged in her cell in a Suffolk jail has died, a Prison Service spokeswoman said on Monday. Staff at St Edmunds Prison tried to resuscitate Tina Bromley, 37, when they discovered her body on Sunday evening at the jail, formerly Highpoint South.
She was pronounced dead 30 minutes later.
Bromley was serving a four-month sentence for possessing Class A drugs and criminal damage.
Her address was not known.
The spokeswoman said the police, the coroner and the woman's family had been informed.
