Man faces air rifle charge
A man has appeared in court, charged in connection with a firearm incident in Newmarket.

Richard Horrex, 55, from Newmarket, Suffolk, is charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, and actual bodily harm.

On Sunday, police were called to Exning Road in Newmarket, following reports a man was firing an air rifle from the window of a house.

A taxi driver, Paul Carlton, was shot at from the window of a car.

Mr Horrex, from Exning Road, appeared before magistrates in Sudbury on Wednesday.

His case has been committed to Ipswich Crown Court.

He spoke only to confirm his name and address, and that he understood the charges.

No pleas have been entered. He has been remanded in custody until his next appearance in a week's time.
