Police are still searching for a teenager who disappeared after a beach party, despite an appeal by his parents for him to get in touch.

Rory Unwin-Rose, 15, went missing in the early hours on Thursday at Walberswick, near Lowestoft.

The talented rugby player, who represented Suffolk at county level, was described as a sensitive and thoughtful teenager and a strong swimmer by his parents on Friday.

"Rory, if you've got yourself into a temper, if anyone has made you cross or angry or if you think you're in trouble, please don't worry about it," they said.

The parents, who did not wish to reveal their first names, added: "Just come home, we - Mum, Dad, and Angus - miss you. We're looking forward to going on holiday soon ... please get in touch."

Police officers and the Lowland Search and Rescue Team resumed the search on Friday, accompanied by a force helicopter, the coastguard and lifeboat crews.

Detectives leading the hunt for the youngster, from Cretingham, are keen to trace two people seen in the area of the beach party between Wednesday and Thursday morning.

The first is a body boarder who was spotted by some of those at the party crossing the harbour towards Southwold late on Wednesday night.

The second man, described as "a tramp", approached the party to ask for a cigarette.

Police are also appealing for anyone else who was at the party to come forward.

They have so far spoken to 15 people who attended the party, but believe a further five were also present.

Rory is described as around 5 ft 9 in tall, of average build with dark curly hair and bushy eyebrows.

He was last seen wearing blue and white swimming shorts.

Police urged anyone who may have seen the youngster to contact them on 01473 613 500.
