The ambulance service has warned people to take precautions on the roads after its crews reported difficult driving conditions following fresh snow falls.
A spokesman said staff were reporting they had had to reduce their speed in Staffordshire due to the conditions.
The Met Office issued a severe warning over widespread icy roads in the West Midlands region on Thursday.
Motorists have had their windscreens damaged by children throwing snowballs from a bridge in Tamworth.
Police said there had been four reports of snowballs being thrown from a bridge over the A5 at Glascote.
The wintry weather is expected to ease over the weekend.
