Those behind the project hope it will cut down on anti-social behaviour |
Parents are being urged to find out where their children are every night of the summer holidays as part of a project run by Staffordshire Police. The "Where Is Your Child Tonight?" scheme in Lichfield is aimed at preventing youngsters from getting into dangerous situations. Police said it would also cut down on anti-social behaviour in the area. Posters have been put up around the district asking parents to be more aware of what their children are doing. Advertisements have been put up in supermarkets and other shops across Lichfield. Insp Jonathan Staite, of Staffordshire Police, said: "It is essential that as parents we are aware of what our children are doing, where they are going and who with. "This can enable us to give sensible, practical advice to young people to help protect themselves and they are therefore less likely to get involved in anti-social behaviour other activities such as alcohol or drug abuse."
