The bar was sold to a man in St Albans, Herts

Student Rebecca Wells is donating the cash to LAM Action which funds research into a lung disease.

Ms Wells, from Stoke-on-Trent, found the bar down the back of a sofa and was delighted at the amount an "old chocolate bar" had raised.

Her original auction was called off after eBay said the top bid of �2,500 for the Cadbury bar was unauthorised.

A man from St Albans has agreed to pay �102 for the Wispa.

Ms Wells said: "I think it' s great for an old chocolate bar that nobody's really going to eat.

"I don't know what he's going to do with it."

Ms Wells said she wanted to raise money for LAM Action because her friend had lung disease and she wanted to help fund research into treatment.

Birmingham firm Cadbury stopped making Wispa bars in 2003. It brought them back as a trial in October following an internet campaign.
