Police are searching for the estranged husband of a 61-year-old woman who was found stabbed in the neck. Diane Ingram, 61, was discovered in a ground floor flat in Avon Road, Cannock, Staffordshire, on Tuesday.
The flat, where Mrs Ingram lived alone, has been cordoned off while forensic investigations are carried out.
Police want to speak to Harold Ingram, who is also known as Jim. He was last seen on the number 870 bus to Wolverhampton on Tuesday afternoon.
The 62-year-old was spotted on the single decker bus in Walsall Road.
Mr Ingram, of Don Grove, Cannock, is white, about 5ft 7ins tall, of medium build and walks with a distinctive stoop.
He has unkempt short, greying brown hair, and may have been carrying a Marks & Spencer bag.
Det Insp Ronnie Walker said: "We're following up several lines of inquiry into this tragic death.
"We are very keen to speak to Mr Ingram about Diane's death as soon as possible and would urge that he, or anyone who knows where he is, contacts the police immediately.
"Mr Ingram does not have a driving licence but may have travelled some distance on public transport."
