Xboxes valued at more than �1m have been stolen from a distribution centre in two separate raids. The thieves are thought to be taking advantage of high pre-Christmas demand for the gaming machines, which can cost up to �300 in stores.
A lorry containing �750,000 worth of Xboxes was stolen as it left the centre near Lichfield, Staffs, on Monday.
Four days earlier, a lorry with �300,000 worth of the machines on board was taken from the same compound.
Driver attacked
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "The offences happened in the same area and targeted the same product.
"We don't know if the offences are linked but are looking into the possibility that they are."
The lorry which was hijacked on Monday morning was later found abandoned in Minworth, near Sutton Coldfield.
A gang of at least three men, who arrived in two vehicles, persuaded the lorry driver to pull over on the A38 by claiming something was trapped beneath his wheels.
The 46-year-old driver was then attacked and his vehicle stolen.
